Mathematician specializing in numerical linear algebra, matrix functions, Krylov subspace methods, and high-performance computing
From September 2019 - December 2020, I was a PRIMUS-funded postdoc in the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University working on "Scalable and Accurate Numerical Linear Algebra for Next-Generation Hardware" with Erin Carson. Prior to that, I worked with Daniel Kressner for a year in the Chair of Numerical Algorithms and High-Performance Computing at EPFL.
My doctorate was jointly awarded by Temple University and the Bergische Universität Wuppertal for my thesis A New Block Krylov Subspace Framework with Applications to Functions of Matrices Acting on Multiple Vectors. I was supervised by Daniel B. Szyld and Andreas Frommer.
I have a bachelors degree in Spanish and volunteered as an English teacher for Puentes de Salud in Philadelphia for a few years. In addition to Spanish, I speak German, French, Bulgarian, Czech, and Arabic to varying degrees. Check out my hobbies page for my favorite language resources.

26 October 2020: An overview of block Gram-Schmidt methods and their stability properties is live on arXiv, along with a helpful code package on Github.
13 October 2020: Compress-and-restart block Krylov subspace methods for Sylvester matrix equations is now live on Numerical Linear Algebra with Applications.
10 September 2020: Limited-memory polynomial methods for large-scale matrix functions is live in the ANLA Topical Issue of GAMM Mitteilungen.

29 Jan 2020: I've been invited to give a plenary talk at the upcoming XXI Householder Symposium on Numerical Linear Algebra. UPDATE: Householder has since been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but a book of abstracts has been posted online.
